I read as much as parenthood and work allows. I prefer actual, paper books, and often make notes in the margin. If you want to know what I’m teeing up – here’s my Amazon wish list. If I buy through Amazon, I try to buy second-hand from Goodwill sellers.

This effort to catalog everything I’ve read is non-exhaustive, and the finish dates are, at times a best guess from memory. It’s interesting to review the phases I went through. Geopolitics, war correspondence, dark literature like Palahniuk and Easton-Ellis, my Africa obsession, lefty economics. A lot of business and parenting titles lately, but a shamefully low volume since 2016, when our first child was born. We’re in the trenches right now. Here’s how to think about the ratings:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Everyone should read this
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I got a lot from this, you might too
⭐️⭐️⭐️: Good
⭐️⭐️: Fine, I got through it
⭐️: Avoid
